After Effects Session number one.

This is the first time I have used the software, After Effects. Although I am aware of the animation process (keyframes etc) I am not used to doing it in an adobe software. This is a documentation of my first session.

As we open the software we are welcomed with a window with different compartments. Unlike other adobe software, all the features are locked in one big window.

Unlike other adobe softwares you do not start a new project through the file menu. Instead you start one through the composition menu

COMPOSITION > NEW COMPOSITION.

A window then pops up asking for what format or resolution you want to work in.

I then changed the encoding system to PAL D1/DV Widescreen square pixel.
REGIONS - PAL is the United Kingdom standard, NTSC is the standard used in After Effects for the United States. 29.97 seconds (NTSC) to 25 frames per second (PAL). 24 frames per second is the rate of traditional animation.

I selected the duration of my animation to 10 seconds (0:00:10:00)
We can always reisit these settings by going to COMPOSITION > COMPOSITION SETTINGS.

To fill our composition with shapes we go to LAYER > NEW > SOLID.

So, here we have my shape in my black frame.

I add a new solid layer this time with a pink square.
