Transferring the designs into illustrator. Sputnik is quite an easy element to vectorise as it's basically a circle with a few simple elements.
The Sputnik ship is pretty basic (aesthetically) so is easy to vector. It being a simple shape also lends itself to be a geometric, simple poster.
Adding colour, I decided to fill Sputnik, grey. As much as I want to keep it simple I don't want it to be too simple, so adding shade will add more interest.
I've also added a white stroke around the shape for the same effect.
