Talk with Andy.
Today I showed Andy my progress on the Artist brief and his response was very positive.
I asked what he thought of the logo and how the logo should be applied.
He really liked the logo as it was very clean and resembled Viner's work in a clever, considered way.
He also mentioned that the "Name shape" logo was better as it came from an idea.
In regards to applications...
Andy currently works freelance with the Hepworth gallery in Wakefield and designs the promotional material for the exhibitions, so he gave me a list of the materials he uses to promote the exhibitions.
- Banners and posters - He mentioned that if it the designs work on a poster then you can pretty much apply it to everything else in the range. As long as the information is clear and considered.
- Online banners/advertisements
- Labels
- Animated gif for website
- Gallery programme
- Invites
- postcards
We both concluded that it's important to consider how the work is shown.
Can Viner's approach be incorporated within the exhibition itself.
He works with interaction so how does the audience interact with the work?
He also worked with light and motion. Are they factors that should be included?
The talk was very useful so I just need to get on designing the range and various deliverables.
