OUGD203 Product Range Distribution

Workshop Two | "5" List.

In the second workshop we were asked to put our thoughts onto paper. Focusing on my re-written brief I listed different aspects of that brief under 6 different categories and defining the rationale of the brief.

5 Problems I want to solve
- Rebranding - creating a new identity.
- Reinforcing the relationship between print and digital.
- Supporting local and upcoming bands in a concise and fresh layout.
- lack of media coverage of the UK’s Second City.

5 message I want to communicate
- Live music will never die.
- Local talent often goes unnoticed by bigger, more known magazine
- Birmingham has a radiant music and culture scene, which is often thwarted by the stature of cities such AS London and Manchester.

Why?
- Personal interest
- Gain attention about something I strongly believe in
- I would like to see how a rebrand for a music magazine can be spread amongst a range.

5 Facts about the subject / content
- Refreshing change from mainstream music magazines such as NME, Kerrang, Q etc.
- Embraces new, local talent as well as established bands.
- The news of the magazine is constantly being updated.
- Focuses on live music

5 Facts about the context/audience
- Share same passion for live music
- No discrimination when it comes to audience - It's for all music lovers.

5 Elements that could turn a single product into a range
- Different bands
- Advertising campaign - print - tv - web
- iPhone App
- Video reviews
- Different formats
-Anniversary editions
