I was abit hesitant using this idea seeing how it's "TOP TEN" But top ten doesnt necessarily mean "The best". Bearing this in mind I've decided to go along with my Natural Disasters.
Earth is a violent planet, and always has been. In fact it is much calmer today than in the past. As the planet continues to cool – 4.5 billion years after it formed – what was once likely a lava world has become a temperate planet that's two-thirds covered by water and hospitable to life.
But recent events and new research show that the geologic havoc is far from over.
A cosmic impact ended the age of dinosaurs, scientists now confirm. Such blasts and explosions have been pivotal throughout Earth's history, since its very beginning, with a colossal collision that apparently created the moon and reshaped Earth just as it was developing. Researchers say we'll eventually be struck by another devastating comet or asteroid, though the odds go down with time as the solar system's formation debris gradually becomes scooped up by our world and others.
Since continents first formed, they've constantly shifted, with volcanoes and earthquakes shaping and reshaping the surface, islands and mountains emerging and being wiped out over the eons.
The fact that the recent earthquake in Chile was powerful enough to shift Earth's axis by 3 inches just goes to show the planet remains a violent, dynamic place to live.

A natural disaster is the effect of a natural hazard (e.g., flood, tornado, hurricane, volcanic eruption, earthquake, heatwave, or landslide). It leads to financial, environmental or human losses. The resulting loss depends on the vulnerability of the affected population to resist the hazard, also called their resilience. if these disasters continues it would be a great danger for the earth. This understanding is concentrated in the formulation: "disasters occur when hazards meet vulnerability."Thus a natural hazard will not result in a natural disaster in areas without vulnerability, e.g. strong earthquakes in uninhabited areas. The term natural has consequently been disputed because the events simply are not hazards or disasters without human involvement. A concrete example of the division between a natural hazard and a natural disaster is that the 1906 San Francisco earthquake was a disaster, whereas earthquakes are a hazard. There are different types of natural disasters and may need categorising before I work with them/ condense them into a top ten. These categories are:
- World changing (disasters which shape continents, change the tilt of the planet)
- Deadliest (Ranked by number of fatalities)
First recorded Natural disaster.
The first recoreded natrual disaster was the Minoan eruption, which is estimated to have occurred in the mid second millennium BCE.
The Minoan eruption of Thera, also referred to as the Thera eruption or Santorini eruption, was a major catastrophic volcanic eruption with a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6 or 7 and a Dense-rock equivalent (DRE) of 60 cubic kilometres (14 cu mi),which is estimated to have occurred in the mid second millennium BCE. The eruption was one of the largest volcanic events on Earth in recorded history.The eruption devastated the island of Thera (also called Santorini), including the Minoan settlement at Akrotiri, as well as communities and agricultural areas on nearby islands and on the coast of Crete.
