In todays session we gathered our research and made it more focused.
We were asked to pick a word out of our 20 words that summed up our research. I wanted to show the "bringing people together" aspect of tea so I chose "Togetherness" we were then asked to choose one of our facts that also summed up our research. Mine was -
"Tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world, after water"
Same with a statistic -
"80% of office workers now claim they find out more whats going on at work over a cup of tea than in any other way"
Opinion - "I drink tea therefore I am"
I really loved that opinion/quote. It's an obvious reference to Rene Descartes' "I think, therefore I am"
It just shows how important and everyday tea is to people.
I was then asked to sum up my research in a statement relevant to Leeds.
My statement was
"Cafes in Leeds"
At the end of all that we were put into groups with simular statements. I was grouped with
Sadie,Choe,Claudia,Ryan and Liv. We all decided to look at buildings/places of Leeds but after more work we focused it down to one question to base this brief on -
"Does Leeds have
any hidden secrets?"
As a group, we are going to start our research by exploring Leeds/asking residents to find places of interest that are unknown to students in Leeds. People have quite a shallow idea of leeds. Some think its run by students and only has clubs/nights out for students but we want to show people the "Secret" part of Leeds. Get people to explore and find out more about Leeds.
